About the Conference
The Context
The East and Horn of Africa sits at the crossroads of some of the world's most dynamic and volatile mobility systems. Currently, the region faces overlapping crises: conflict in Sudan, climate-induced displacement in Somalia and Kenya, and economic strains across the board.
This conference moves beyond the binaries of "crisis versus stability" to address how the region can manage migration as a tool for resilience and economic inclusion.
Core Objectives
Reframe forced migration governance as a long-term adaptation issue.
Interrogate implications of overlapping crises for mobility patterns.
Showcase forward-looking practices from national, city, and community levels.
Identify common themes for research publication in 2026.
